Congratulations to Katie Staus on being selected as Smithton’s Student of the Month by the Sedalia Rotary Club!


The Kaysinger Junior High Art Contest was held on September 19th at the Missouri State Fairgrounds. Ten schools participated and Smithton dominated the competition! We placed in 7 of 8 divisions and won 1st place in 4 of those!

Cory Pond- 4th place in Ink
Zoie Shapley- 1st place in Pastel
Laton Criner- 2nd place in Watercolor

Codee Niebruegge- 1st place in Graphite
Madelyn Cole- 2nd place in Mixed Media
We also won 3rd place on the group mural project! All the students worked hard and did amazing!


On Friday, students were able to attend a Career Fair at Whiteman Air Force Base. Students were able to interact with service men and women with the Air Force National Guard, Army National Guard and Air Force. They were able to get hands on experience with different careers and aircrafts, vehicles and equipment - including the B2 Bomber. The day ended with servicemen and women sharing their personal stories and with us getting to witness an enlistment ceremony.





The Marching Band had a rainy day at Carrollton Band Day! The Color Guard finished in 2nd place! The Band earned 2nd in corner, 2nd in general effect and 6th for music! All of this was good for a 4th place finish overall which is the best since 2007! Congratulations!





On Friday, the afternoon preschool visited the library for story time!


The Smithton High School BBQ Team, Smithton Train Smokers, competed in the Retrieving Freedom Wings for Wags competition in downtown Sedalia. Smithton Gold Team, Cassidy Huddleston, Zoey Thierfelder and Keyan Harvey, took second in the Smoked and Grilled Category! Smithton Black Team, Aden Criner and Ryan Pond, took 1st Place in the Smoked and Grilled Category!


What a great day at one of the greatest races of the year in Hermitage at the dam on Lake Pomme De Terre. Smithton had four runners finish in the top twenty. Way to go Tigers!!










Lots of money raised this week to help the fight against breast cancer. Thanks to everyone who gave. It was certainly a "Pink Week"









Volleyball battled hard against Cole Camp on Pink Night!





Our soccer team caps off a busy Pink Day with a big win over Kaysinger Conference opponent Cole Camp. Way to go Tigers!




7th graders are investigating light travel with various materials such as 1-way mirrors, glass, and regular mirrors. They are looking for answers to this question about the 1-way mirror: Why can Mario see Yoshi and himself, but Yoshi can only see himself?

Do you like a great show? Do you like great food? Please attend Smithton's Got Talent and chili supper on Saturday, November 11. Dinner starts at 5:30 and the show starts at 6:00. Adults (dinner, drink, dessert and admission) are $10, students are $8, and kids under 5 are $5. Just admission is adults $5, kids $3, and kids under 5 free. We’ll also have a silent auction and 50/50 raffle. All proceeds go to support the music department.


It's that time again for Smithton to show off their talent! We need singers, dancers, musicians, dramatic and funny performances, magic, lip syncs, or just about any talent you have. To audition, see Mrs. Greene or Mrs. Bird for an audition form. Auditions are November 6. If performing isn't your thing, come to the show on November 11 at 6:00pm!
