WhySmithtonHeader

I've taught at Smithton for 23 years and it has been a wonderful experience. My daughter attended Smithton because I knew this would be the best place for her. Smithton consistently has teachers who work hard to help the students. The vast majority of parents and the community support education, including the arts. We've been lucky to have administrators that support and respect the teachers. Smithton is a special place and a wonderful place to work.

I chose to work at Smithton R-VI Schools because this is my hometown. I always knew growing up that I wanted to be a teacher and teach at Smithton. I feel blessed to work in a school district that is such a huge part of the community. I have always loved being a tiger and can't wait until my children are also tigers. When I was a student I had phenomenal teachers that gave me so much of their time, effort, and support. I wanted to be able to do this for my students and for my hometown. I also have wanted to be a part of Smithton as a teacher because I knew I would have a strong and supportive community to raise my family.

I have spent 10 years as a teacher at Smithton R-VI. I’m blessed to work in a district that cares about its students, teachers, families, and the community. Smithton is always striving to provide the best education and extracurricular opportunities for all students. As a teacher I’m grateful to be able to grow as an educator at Smithton R-VI and feel support from administration, fellow co-workers, and the community as I continue my teaching career. Smithton R-VI is a great district and I’m proud to work here!

I have worked at Smithton R-VI for 15 years. I have had the pleasure of watching students grow from curious elementary students to successful adults. My daughters graduated from Smithton and I have been able to see firsthand the amazing results of Smithton's education. Working alongside the families of Smithton has been a true joy and has helped foster that family mentality. I am privileged to call Smithton R-VI home.
