Last night our Track stars did an awesome job against 19 other schools, many of which were Class 3+ with 8 PR's and a new School Record!!!
In the 100M run, Braden Soverns and Oriana Biggs PR'd, Brooklyn Southard broke the current school record by .02 seconds!!!
Jace Williams came in 10th and PR'd in the 200M
In the 400M, Carter Riley came in 5th and Zane Starke came in 9th with his PR.
Coby Tagtmeyer rocked 3rd place in the 800M and 4th in the 1 Mile
Dakota Wells came in 10th in the 1 Mile
In the 2 Mile, Cameron Schaller and Tyler Wilson raced each other to the finish with Tyler coming in 6th with a PR and Cameron 7th.

4x100M and 4x200M teams came in 10th while the 4x400M team snagged 5th and the 4x800M team came in 4th.

Kiril Bevzyuk PR'd in all 3 of his throwing events (Discus, Javelin, and Shot Put).

Baseball opened up conference play tonight at home VS Stover. The game didn't go our way, but we had some good moments. Cory Pond led the offensive attack with 3 hits and a run scored, Laton Criner added a hit, and Karsen Asbury had a single a 2 RBIs.
The Smithton Tigers track team traveled to Higginsville tonight for the Husker Invitational! Lots of PR's and great performances! Way to compete, Tigers!

High School Baseball will play tonight at Home vs Stover at 5:00 pm! Come Out and Support!⚾
Girls Soccer traveled to Boonville and lost a hard fought battle 1-2. Cierra Sprinkle scored the lone goal off a corner kick.
JH Track athletes traveled to Higginsville and did awesome with 8 PRs and taking home a couple medals:

Both 4x1 teams did great, Girls got 1st and Boys got 6th, both as PRs

How does our levy compare to other schools in the area?
A school’s overall levy can be distributed into 4 different funds. Our entire levy is in our general revenue account and therefore is considered our operating levy. That operating levy is in a great position and compares favorably to other like sized schools in our area. However, many schools have distributed their total levy into a debt service levy and therefore have a total levy that surpasses ours. We are at the bottom in the area compared to overall levies, but above the state average for operating levies.

Why a $0.45 levy?
The district is legally obligated to meet the demands of the bond repayment schedule. A $0.45 levy allows us to repay the loan based on the most conservative estimates. In addition, the $0.45 places our total levy closer to the average range of school districts in the area. This allows us to remain attractive for homeowners, agriculture and businesses growth within the district.

We know testing isn’t everyone’s favorite, but this is a great chance for students to show what they’ve learned this year! Students are expected to be at school on the days they are scheduled to test, so please plan appointments and trips around these dates if possible.
To help students do their best:
• Get a good night’s sleep
• Eat breakfast
• Charge Chromebooks
• Arrive on time

The High School Track meet for today at Fayette has been cancelled due to poor weather conditions.
The Lady Tigers hosted the Spartans from Moberly tonight. The game was decided by PKs. Way to fight Tigers!
Smithton Tigers Baseball traveled to Santa Fe this evening for a beautiful night to play baseball. We came up short but Cory Pond, Karsen Asbury and Braden Byerly add some hits to the season total.
Plans include modifying Coombs St. to add a third lane dedicated specifically for school pick-up and drop-off. This improvement will help reduce congestion and create a smoother, safer traffic flow during busy times.
We’re also adding a designated, covered entryway at the elementary school, giving students and families a safe place to wait while entering and leaving the building—rain or shine.
