Congratulations to the Smithton FFA Chapter Green Hand and Discovery recipients at the ceremony this evening. The future is bright for our local chapter.




Last week juniors traveled to Missouri Valley College to attend a Junior Professional Development Day. They attended workshops on choosing a career path, investing and saving, resume and scholarship writing and more!

Students attended the Young Writer's Day at Central Methodist University on Wednesday with Mrs. Carver. Abbey Smith earned an Honorable Mention for her Poetry and Collage. Hayden Asbury earned an Honorable Mention for his Flash Fiction Story. Preston Brown's Flash Fiction was read aloud by one of the professors because she really enjoyed it. All students worked very hard and put their best efforts forward to represent Smithton well on an intensive writing day.






These kiddos earned "Paws"itive office referrals in the month of October for being learners. They have shown grit, perseverance, growth, and great effort! Way to go Tigers!


All Veterans are welcome to attend our Veteran's Day Assembly tomorrow!


Medical Admin students travelled to SFCC today for a Health Sciences Programs Tour including presentations for Nursing, Dental Hygiene, Occupational Therapy Asst, Health Info Technology, Pharm Tech, Medical Assisting, Behavioral Health, and Rad Tech. The students participated in some hands-on experiences, and a lot of information on the benefits of attending these programs at State Fair. Thank you to Mindy Beebe and everyone at SFCC for an amazing experience!!






We have some incredibly talented students at Smithton! A big shout out to Mrs. Greene, Mrs. Bird, and all of the students that performed this evening at the JH/HS Fall Music Concert!





Smithton's Got Talent, November 11, 2023 5:30pm dinner and a 6:00pm show. Chili and Soups, followed by great performances. Check out the raffle and silent auction too. Sounds like a night!


JH Girls Basketball will have open gyms this week. Today, 11/6/23, and Thursday, 11/9/23. Meet in the Elementary Gym for a 5:30 start. 6th grade will also be included in this year's JH Girls team. Please make sure to have all physicals turned in as the start of the season begins next week with official practices.

BIG things happening in our preschool! Jackson Gerke was bummed we had no green tractors. So he wrote a letter to John Deere and boy did they solve the problem! A huge thank you to these fellas for making not only Jackson's day but bringing smiles to all these little faces!
