The Softball team will be traveling to Northwest tonight for a double header! The first game starts at 3:30pm against Sweet Springs followed by a second game against Northwest! Good Luck ladies! Go Tigers!

The Smithton High School track team had a record setting day in Fayette with lots of great individual performances and three school records broken! Go Tigers!










Reminder school will not be in session March 29-April 1. Students will return on Tuesday April 2nd.

Smithton Journalism students, along with others from around the state, are visiting Mizzou. By participating in competitions and attending sessions, students are learning more about the field of journalism field. Smithton senior, Lily Stevens, at Smithton High School says “I was extremely nervous about the Write Off competition but it turned out to be a really great day.”

The Junior High Track team traveled to Osceola for their season opener last night. Despite the cold temperatures these athletes burned the competition, taking home several medals including golds for Carter Riley and Drew Bray.


SOFTBALL/BASEBALL UPDATE 4/1/24:
Softball will be moved to Northwest for a two-game night: GAME ONE 3:30 PM- Sweet Springs(home) vs Smithton. GAME TWO 5 PM- Smithton (home) vs NW. Baseball will move up to 4 PM Start time vs NW.

Last week over spring break, the Smithton Archery Team competed in the Missouri State Archery event located in the Branson Convention Center! The Smithton team had 18 HS and 16 MS archers that participated. There were over 3700 archers competing from schools all over the state. Aden Criner received a $1,500 scholarship for being the 3rd place overall male 3D archer with a score of 292. He was tied going into the ceremony and had to have a shoot off in which he won. Madison Lemens received a medal for being the 10th place HS girl in bullseye. The high school team came in 13th in 3D and 20th in bullseye with 54 schools competing. There were several season best scores at state.
This was the first year for a middle school team and they did very well. In bullseye Zane Kenyon was the schools top middle school male bullseye shooter with a score of 278 and Dei Moore top female shooter with a score of 267. In 3D, Laton Criner was the top scorer with a score of 275. The HS and MS 3D teams and the HS bullseye team qualified for nationals and the top shooters in each division have a chance at getting a spot at the nationals in Louisville, KY. Way to shoot archers!

Congratulations to Gabe Aitken on being selected Smithton’s Student of the Month with the Sedalia Rotary Club!


Over Spring Break, the Smithton Math Team competed at their final contest for the year in the Camdenton Math Contest! They took 4th Overall and Carson Meyer was runner-up Top Senior! Congratulations Math Team!


Over Spring Break, the Smithton High School Concert Band performed at the State Large Ensemble Contest in Boonville! They received an "Outstanding" rating from the judges! Way to go Band!
