Would our current reserves be used to cover any project costs?
The board of education sets a goal of 20% reserves for the district. Over the last several years we have fluctuated between 25% and 40%. Recent legislation has put legal pressure on our plan to increase pay in our salary and wage positions in order to meet the goals of our Comprehensive School Improvement Plan (CSIP). As a result of these mandates, the ability for districts to transfer money and maintain other financial requirements is becoming more difficult. The district would plan to make responsible amounts of transfers from reserves (Fund 1) into Fund 4 to fund other maintenance and repair projects that are not
necessarily part of this proposition.
