The SMASH Team competed at the Smith Cotton Math Contest on January 27th. The students competed incredibly regardless of being moved up to Division II. Despite competing against larger schools, our SMASH Team took home 3rd Place School in Division II. Some notable achievements include:

Boys drop a close one against Stover tonight in the conference tournament. Stay tuned for information about future tournament games.
Boys get a victory tonight against Otterville in the conference tournament...catch them again Saturday night at 7:00 at Smith-Cotton High school.
The girls varsity basketball team came out with a HUGE 49-22 win over Sacred Heart in the opening round of the Kaysinger Conference basketball tournament! A big shout out to the cheer squad as well for their well executed halftime performance and sideline cheers!

Smithton junior high teams traveled to Sedalia tonight to take on the Gremlins.
Not the outcome we hoped for tonight at Sacred Heart but our Jr. High girls fought hard!
Smithton Basketball is back in action tonight!
-HS 5PM start in Stover, 1/2 JV, varsity girls, then varsity boys.
-JH 5:30PM start, A girls, A boys, then 1/2 B boys game.
The JH girls and boys basketball teams split wins with Windsor this evening as we paid homage to the late Darrell Sypes and the 1 year since his passing.

Smithton A-Team just missed a perfect night, beating LaMonte and barely losing to Lincoln in a nail biting game where just one question could have made all the difference!
Smithton A-Team participated in the SFCC Roadrunner Scholastic Tournament Saturday. 24 teams participated in the tournament. Smithton ranked 13th overall with a record of 5-4, besting schools including Smith-Cotton, Lexington, Iberia, Lockwood, and Nevada. Great job A-Team!
Due to the winter weather advisory in our region the Smithton R 6 Schools will not
be in session tomorrow, January 22.

Update: Our Homecoming makeup date has been confirmed for Saturday, February 10th against Otterville beginning at 5:30PM. We will have a redo week 2/5-2/9, with our assembly being held on 2/9.
