A school’s overall levy can be distributed into 4 different funds. Our entire levy is in our general revenue account and therefore is considered our operating levy. That operating levy is in a great position and compares favorably to other like sized schools in our area. However, many schools have distributed their total levy into a debt service levy and therefore have a total levy that surpasses ours. We are at the bottom in the area compared to overall levies, but above the state average for operating levies.

School will not be in session tomorrow Friday, April 3rd

Thank you so much to Mr. Todd Gerlt, Senior Lender at Wood & Huston Bank, for coming to speak to our Personal Finance class! We sincerely appreciate the knowledge you shared with our students. Thank you for taking the time to support and promote financial literacy in our school! @Wood & Huston Bank

The Junior High Track meet scheduled for tomorrow 4/3 at Windsor has been rescheduled to a different date that we are unavailable to attend.
Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.
The district is legally obligated to meet the demands of the bond repayment schedule. A $0.45 levy allows us to repay the loan based on the most conservative estimates. In addition, the $0.45 places our total levy closer to the average range of school districts in the area. This allows us to remain attractive for homeowners, agriculture and businesses growth within the district.

We know testing isn’t everyone’s favorite, but this is a great chance for students to show what they’ve learned this year! Students are expected to be at school on the days they are scheduled to test, so please plan appointments and trips around these dates if possible.
To help students do their best:
• Get a good night’s sleep
• Eat breakfast
• Charge Chromebooks
• Arrive on time
Let’s finish the year strong! If you have any questions about testing dates, please contact Miss Gorrell at gorrelle@smithton.k12.mo.us

We’re also adding a designated, covered entryway at the elementary school, giving students and families a safe place to wait while entering and leaving the building—rain or shine.
