The Smithton Archery Team will be competing in the Warsaw bullseye and 3D tournament on Saturday. This is a summary of what they have been doing in the past few weeks. On January 6th Smithton held a bullseye and 3D tournament where high school and middle school teams placed 1st in both categories. At this tournament Madison Lemons was able to shoot her personal best in bullseye with a score of 294. This places her in 2nd place in the state. Aden shot a 290 in 3D placing him in 2nd in the state also. On January 20th the team traveled to Skyline and both teams placed 1st in bullseye and 3D again. Then on January 23rd, Smithton held a bullseye tournament with both teams placing 1st. Other state recognitions are Collin May 14th in state in 3D and Cassidy in 5th place. The high school team sitis in 4th place at the state level and the middle school team is in 16th. They have all been working hard in practices to earn their spots to compete at State in Branson in March!

The varsity boys drop a back and forth battle tonight against Green Ridge in the Kaysinger Conference Tournament.



The varsity girls pick up a big Kaysinger Conference Tournament win tonight 48-41 over Cole Camp! They will be back in action tomorrow night at SFCC with a 7:30pm tip!






The junior high teams traveled to Tipton tonight and split wins with the cardinals! Way to go Tigers!

Katie Staus earned a special award yesterday! She has studied Spanish on the Duolingo app for 500 days! Duolingo is assigned to the students but it is not required for them to be on it every day. Katie even practiced while on vacations so she would not lose her streak!

JH Basketball will be in Tipton tomorrow 2/1/24 for a 5:30 PM start. Order of contest: 1/2 B girls game, followed by 1/2 B boys game, A girls game, then A boys game.

The SMASH Team competed at the Smith Cotton Math Contest on January 27th. The students competed incredibly regardless of being moved up to Division II. Despite competing against larger schools, our SMASH Team took home 3rd Place School in Division II. Some notable achievements include:

The girls varsity basketball team came out with a HUGE 49-22 win over Sacred Heart in the opening round of the Kaysinger Conference basketball tournament! A big shout out to the cheer squad as well for their well executed halftime performance and sideline cheers!
