There are many factors to consider when looking into school closure.  Severe weather alerts, primary road conditions, secondary road conditions and safe local walking surfaces and parking lots are considered during inclement weather.  There are many considerations to be made during an infectious disease outbreak as well.  The decision to close school continues to be a local decision and will therefore be made based on local input from the Pettis County Health Department and consultation with school districts both in the Kaysinger Conference and the region.  Follow this link to The Center for Disease Control and their guidance on closures based on events that have happened abroad.
